Zoom Improves it’s Security

Zoom is beefing up it’s security!

Known for it’s security and privacy issues, the video conferencing program, Zoom, is looking to increase it’s security by adding end to end encryption. This update is schedule for a beta release sometime in July 2020. All users of Zoom will have the ability to use this end-to-end encryption, but it is an optional feature that must be turned on.

What is end-to-end encryption and how does it affect your use of Zoom? End-to-end encryption is a system of communication where only the communicating parties can view each others conversations. This prevents outsiders from listening as they are unable to access the cryptography keys needed to decrypt the conversations. When using this feature on Zoom, it may limit some of the meeting functionalities which is why Zoom presents this as an optional feature.
